Scenes from Taiwan: May 2021

Hello everyone! I hope all is well. This is Wan in NYC, bringing you all some much needed updates in these strange times. This time we are featuring the images of our beloved tea-master Jaesy as she visits some tea trade shows as well as our friends’ farms! So here we go!

For those of you who have never been to a tea trade show, it is a place where everyone brings their teas to promote them and share them with everyone. Luckily for us, our teas are mostly all sold out so no need to do a table! #humblebrag

First off, I need to mention just how beautiful this trade show is. It is gigantic, and happens both indoors and outdoors. The tea tasting is done mostly outdoors even though Taiwan is relatively untouched by COVID-19. Glad to see the precautions in place tho.

As you can see, a lot of effort was spent in the packaging. I sincerely hope that Taiwan does not go the way of Mainland China, where 80% of the cost is spent on packaging and 20% of the cost is spent on the teas.

The new teawares are awesome tho.

Now for some tastings.

Rare pic of Jaesy with other tea-masters.

Now let’s move forward to some scenes from the farms! We actually found an amazing organic tea farm in the peak of a mountain. Now normally I am suspicious of using the word “organic“ to market everything, but Jaesy once again proved me wrong (very annoying) and found an amazing farm on the top of a mountain. There is no need to fear cross-contamination as it is the only farm up there, so imagine the views! Actually no need to imagine, as here are some videos!

So both Jaesy and I are working on ways to bring theses over to the US. I hope to have some good news for every soon.

That is all from me today! I hope you have enjoyed seeing these scenes from Taiwan as much as I have.
